Water molecules are composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. When the molecule loses a hydrogen atom, the remaining OH molecule takes on a negative charge. Electrolysis of water is the decomposition of water (H20) into oxygen (02) and hydrogen gas (H2) due to an electric current being passed through the water. The Ion Pro Wave introduces both electrical current and programmed frequencies during sessions.
An electrical power source is connected to two electrodes, or two plates, (typically made from some inert metal such as stainless steel) which are placed in the water. Hydrogen will appear at the cathode (the negatively charged electrode or Top plate in the Ion Pro Wave array where electrons are pumped into the water), and oxygen will appear at the anode (the positively charged electrode or bottom plate in the Ion Pro Wave array.
The bubbling effects of the Ion Pro Wave is the result of Hydrogen being generated at the Cathode or top plate within the Ion Pro Wave internal array. These are clearly observable dissipating from the ion foot bath openings.

An ion is a charged atom that has gained or lost an electron which creates a magnetic field capable of attaching to and neutralizing oppositely charged particles. These neutralized particles are extracted from the body through the process called osmosis.
Osmosis is a scientific term that is used to describe the movement of particles through a membrane from an area of lower concentration to an area of higher concentration. In this case, the higher concentration refers to the ion field that is set up by placing the array into the water while running the unit.
